Hotel Indigo Manchester located right next to Victoria Station opened it's doors to the public and so did the Mamucium restaurant. I had the chance to stay the night and try out the food with my Mum, on her birthday too!
As soon as I walked in I noticed the boutique hotel has the most amazing decor and interior, the Victorian building is mixed with modern, contemporary designs. There were so many beautiful little details that I spotted (like the cool light bulbs) and some Manchester related things too!
Photo frames, wall art, books, even the hangers stuck on the wall - they all looked so cool. My favourite things were the waterfall shower and the cosiest bed I have stayed in, the pillows were so soft! The TV was in the perfect place too - right in front of the bed. They also have a 24 hour fitness centre so if you'd like to fit in a workout at any time during your stay, you can!
In the evening, I tried out the food at the Mamucium restaurant which can be found on the first food of the hotel. They have a variety of food on the menu (including vegan and vegetarian options), a lot of family favourties with a Mancunian twist. I went for the Traditional Battered Fish and Chips (served with mushy peas, tartare sauce and lemon and my Mum had the Roasted Breast of Chicken (served with creamy mash potato, spinach and red wine sauce. Both plates were delicious, I would love to go again and try the Chicken because the mash tasted amazing! I ended the night with a Bakewell Steamed Sponge, although I really wanted to try the Blueberry Pavlova too.
They also served the most delicious breakfast in the morning, choose between hot or cold food or get both! I ordered Eggs Benedict from the menu and grabbed some pastries from the breakfast table.
I would definitely visit here again and recommend the hotel to any friends visiting Manchester. It is in the perfect location, only a minute walk from the train station and surrounded by all of Manchester's favourites. Book your stay here!
